CT Scan (Computed Tomography)

What is a CT Scan?

CT scan combines X-rays with computer technology to create cross-sectional images of the body. It offers a detailed view of bones, organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues. CT scans are faster than MRI and often used in emergencies.

Why is CT Scan Important?

CT scans quickly detect injuries, infections, tumors, blood clots, and internal bleeding. It is widely used in trauma cases and for evaluating chest, abdominal, and pelvic conditions.

Basic CT Tests :

Head CT (for stroke, trauma, brain tumors)

Chest CT (for lung infections, cancer)

Abdomen and Pelvis CT (for organ evaluation, stones)

CT Angiography (to visualize blood vessels)

What to Expect:

The scan takes 5–30 minutes. You lie on a table that slides through a doughnut-shaped scanner. Sometimes a contrast dye is injected to highlight organs or vessels. It is painless but involves a small amount of radiation exposure.
