What is FibroScan ?

Fibroscan is a non-invasive diagnostic test used to assess the health of your liver. It uses advanced ultrasound technology to measure liver stiffness and fat content, helping doctors evaluate conditions such as fibrosis, cirrhosis, and fatty liver disease. Unlike a traditional biopsy, Fibroscan is painless, quick, and highly reliable.

Why is Fibroscan Important?

Fibroscan is crucial for early detection and monitoring of chronic liver diseases. It helps in identifying liver damage caused by hepatitis, alcohol use, obesity, or metabolic disorders. By assessing the degree of liver stiffness, Fibroscan allows doctors to track disease progression and create effective treatment plans without invasive procedures.

Basic Fibroscan Tests :

Liver Stiffness Measurement – evaluates fibrosis and cirrhosis levels

Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP) – measures fat buildup in the liver

Fatty Liver Grading – detects and classifies the severity of fatty liver disease

Liver Health Assessment Report – provides an overall picture of liver function

What to Expect:

During a Fibroscan, you will lie comfortably on your back with your right arm raised. A small probe will be placed on your skin over the liver area. The device sends painless vibrations and ultrasound waves to measure liver stiffness and fat levels. The test is safe, non-invasive, and usually completed within 10–15 minutes, with immediate results available.
